π UK, Irish & international family history research
πΏAt Integrity Insight, our mission is to bring family histories to life β uncovering the stories, connections, and moments that make every lineage unique. We believe every name deserves to be remembered, every story deserves to be told, and every generation deserves to understand where they came from. We specialise in careful, evidence-led research that reconstructs individual lives from historical records. πΏ
π Every project begins with careful professional scoping, ensuring the right research approach is taken from the outset.

Researching your family history can feel overwhelming β especially when records are missing, names change, or family stories donβt quite match the documents.
At Integrity Insight, I specialise in careful, evidence-led research that reconstructs individual lives from historical records β bringing context, clarity, and understanding to the fragments that survive.
You donβt need complete documents or absolute certainty to begin β sometimes all it takes is a single name, a question, or a story youβve always wondered about. π±
Family history isnβt just about names and dates β itβs connection.
Itβs the moment you realise your great-grandmother lived just a few streets away from where you stand now.
Itβs discovering the origin of a surname youβve carried your whole life.
Itβs learning that someone, generations before you, made a choice β and that choice shaped the

Itβs learning that someone, generations before you, made a choice β and that choice shaped the life youβre living today.
Researching your ancestry helps us:
π Understand where we come from
πΏ Honour those who came before us
π Reconstruct lives that have been reduced to fragments in the records
A family tree is a starting point β a framework that shows how people are connected.
But on its own, a tree rarely explains how people actually lived.
It can include:
π·οΈ Names
π
Dates
π Places
π Relationships
These pieces are not just data β they are clues to a life lived, and the meaning lies in how they connect
In almost every family history, there is :
β¨ a traveller
β¨ a survivor
β¨ a story keeper
β¨ a mystery
β¨ an ancestor no one talks about
β¨ someone whose story deserves to be remembered
Your family history isnβt random β itβs a series of threads woven through time.
Tracing those threads can change how you see yourself, your roots, and your futur

This is where careful research matters β not assumptions, copied trees, or surface-level results

You donβt need certificates, photos or detailed knowledge. Even if you only know a name, place or approximate year, thatβs enough to begin. Many people start with very little information β thatβs completely normal, and often where the most meaningful research begins.
Family history research varies widely in complexity, sensitivity, and interpretation. Scoping ensures the right approach is taken from the outset β protecting accuracy, managing ethical considerations, and avoiding unnecessary cost or misdirection.
Smaller research projects may take around 2β4 weeks, while deeper life-reconstruction or legacy projects take longer due to the breadth and complexity of the records involved. Timeframes are estimated at the beginning and I keep you updated throughout so you always know what stage weβre at.
In some cases where records are missing or incomplete, I provide a research summary of where and how the search was conducted, and guidance on what may be possible next (for example parish, archive or newspaper searches). You will not be left with silence β youβll always receive an explanation, guidance and options.
Research projects are agreed and scoped before any work begins.
Shorter or introductory projects are usually paid in full at the start. For more in-depth research, staged or instalment payments may be available depending on the structure of the project.
Payment is handled securely via bank transfer or PayPal.
Yes β I specialise in UK and Irish ancestry research, including Scottish and Northern Irish lines. Where migration is involved, research may extend internationally depending on record availability and historical context.
Yes. If you have results from AncestryDNA, MyHeritage or similar services, these can be incorporated into the research β particularly where records are fragmented or identities are unclear.
You will receive a written narrative summary β not simply a list of names and dates.
The focus is on understanding who your ancestor was: where they lived, the period they lived in, and the wider context that shaped their life.
Yes β gift vouchers are available and can be used toward any research project. Theyβre often chosen for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, or family milestones.
Research findings are delivered digitally as a PDF or document, depending on the scope of the project. For larger projects, printed or bound formats may be available as an optional addition.
Absolutely β many clients come to me when they reach a βbrick wallβ, or when records and family stories donβt align. I can help assess whatβs been done, confirm findings, and carefully move the research forward.
Yes β I offer an optional gravesite and monument search as part of wider research. This can help identify an ancestorβs resting place and sometimes provides contextual clues that do not appear in other records.
If youβre unsure where to begin, youβre welcome to message me β Iβm happy to help you decide on the most appropriate starting point.
